EMC Wellness is a testing-focused health and wellness practice in Bangor, Maine, created for people who want a clearer understanding of how their bodies are functioning—not simply another set of numbers.
Through cardiovascular fitness and metabolic testing, advanced laboratory assessments, and detailed medical review, I help clients gather meaningful information and understand how it fits into the larger picture of their health.
My goal is to provide the time, clinical perspective, and individualized interpretation that can be difficult to find in a traditional healthcare setting—so you can make informed, intentional decisions about your health now and for the years ahead.

Throughout my career in medicine, I have met many people who want to take a more proactive role in their health but are left with unanswered questions. Routine healthcare is essential, yet traditional visits do not always provide enough time to explore cardiovascular fitness, metabolism, nutrition, laboratory findings, and long-term health in greater depth.
I created EMC Wellness to offer that time and perspective.
Here, objective data is considered within the context of your health history, lifestyle, and goals. My role is to help you understand what the information means, identify the questions worth exploring, and leave you with greater clarity about your health and your next steps.

Testing is only valuable when the results are accurate, thoughtfully reviewed, and clearly explained.
At EMC Wellness, assessments are selected intentionally and interpreted within the context of your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and goals. I take the time to explain what your results show, what they may not tell us, and which findings or patterns deserve greater attention.
You leave with more than a report or a collection of numbers. You leave with a clearer understanding of your health and practical direction for what to consider next.
I’m Eliza Currie, a Physician Assistant with more than 20 years of clinical experience, including extensive work in primary care and internal medicine.
Throughout my career, I have been drawn to the questions that often require more time and investigation: How well is the body functioning? What do the numbers mean when considered together? And what information could help someone make more informed decisions about their future health?
My background brings together medicine, human movement, nutrition, and performance. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maine, a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of New England, and a Master of Science in Nutrition and Human Performance from Logan University. I have also completed advanced training in wellness counseling through Cornell University and am a certified phlebotomist.
This combination of clinical experience and specialized education shapes the way I approach every assessment: carefully, thoughtfully, and with attention to the whole picture rather than any single result.
Outside of work, I’m a swimmer, runner, and triathlete who genuinely enjoys understanding how the body responds to training. I also love spending time outdoors in Maine, growing food in my garden, and sharing life with my husband and two daughters.

I gladly accept Credit Card, HSA (Health Savings Account), cash, and personal check payments. While the decision not to accept direct insurance payments wasn’t easy, it allows me to focus entirely on providing you with the best nutrition and medical care—free from the constraints of corporate policies. To help with your insurance needs, I'm happy to provide you with a Superbill that can be submitted for reimbursement.
